A Lovely Pear Experiment

Jas: "these pairs are going to take ages to ripen"
Pikey: "put a banana with them, they'll ripen faster"
Gav: "Shut it Pikey"
Pikey: "No really, it works"
Jas: "Shut it Pikey"
Pikey: "honest it does"
Gav: "shut it Pik... oh ok then, lets use science"

For 3 days we've had the following set-up in a controlled environment (the backroom):
  • subject 1: Beret with one banana and one pear
  • subject 2: Beret with three pears
  • subject 3 (control): Beret with one pear
  • subject 4 (Placebo): Beret with one pear and one fake foam banana
The results so far are inconclusive, however the pear in subject 1 is slightly softer that the other subjects. This may be due to the presence of the Banana, or possible do to the constant squeezing it has endured during our rigorous testing procedure.
The Banana Experiment
In other news: Noela says Kiwi fruit ripen apples, Hallybones backs up her theory but this is all just hear-say until the relevant experiment(s) has been carried out.

That's right! Kiwi fruit ripens quicker when placed next to an apple or banana.
